Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has announced plans to move its corporate headquarters from Charlotte, North Carolina, to its current offices in Arlington, Texas, by March 2027.
The Arlington headquarters will serve as the primary hub for corporate leadership and shared business functions. Choctaw Stadium has served as a corporate office since 2020 and currently houses a portion of the corporate workforce. The relocation reflects the continued evolution of the company and strengthens its ability to support a network of 34 parks and nine resorts across North America. Located at the centre of the Dallas and Fort Worth region, Arlington brings leadership closer to the five Texas properties owned by the organisation.
"The decision to return the company's headquarters to Arlington is a continuation of our efforts to evolve the organisation and enhance operational efficiency," said Six Flags President and CEO John Reilly.
After an extensive review, the company determined that concentrating personnel, processes and decision making in the Arlington office is the best path forward. Reilly noted that bringing the corporate team together will enhance collaboration across functions, strengthen company culture and improve coordination among new executive leaders as they align the organisation around key strategic priorities and their long term vision.
Reilly also highlighted that Arlington is a vibrant entertainment district where the Six Flags story began over six decades ago with the opening of Six Flags Over Texas. The city sits at the heart of their Texas parks, providing the leadership team with direct access to park operations and a regular presence on the ground. The company aims to build on its strong capabilities there and capitalise on the vast talent pool in the Dallas and Fort Worth area as it advances its strategic growth plans.
Earlier this summer, Six Flags Over Texas celebrated the opening of Tormenta: Rampaging Run, which is the first giga dive coaster in the world. The debut brought together local officials, community partners, tourism leaders and park guests in recognition of the economic and cultural significance of the attraction to the region. The strong support surrounding the opening reflected the deep connection between Six Flags and the Arlington community as the company continues to invest in experiences that drive tourism and long term growth.
Reilly added that bringing the corporate team together in Arlington helps run a leaner and more responsive organisation. He emphasised that the primary job at the corporate level is to support the parks and park leaders, and this move ensures they are best set up to serve them well.
Despite the relocation, Six Flags will continue to be a major employer and contributor to the regional economy of the Charlotte metro area through its ongoing investments in Carowinds and Carolina Harbor. This includes the new record breaking attraction at Carowinds, Rip Roarin’ Falls, which is on track to open in 2027. In addition, the company will continue to maintain an office in Sandusky, Ohio.
