Europa-Park Resort has recorded its strongest year to date, surpassing seven million visitors in 2025 for the first time in its history. The milestone coincides with the park’s 50th anniversary, reinforcing its position as Germany’s leading theme park destination and one of Europe’s most competitive leisure resorts.
The record attendance places Europa-Park ahead of some of Germany’s most visited attractions, including Cologne Cathedral and Munich’s Oktoberfest, both of which are free to access. The result underlines the continued willingness of guests to pay for premium, multi-day destination experiences.
From Regional Park to International Resort
Reflecting on the achievement, Europa-Park owner Roland Mack highlighted the scale of the transformation since opening year:
“250,000 visitors came to Europa-Park in its opening summer in 1975. Fifty years later, we set a new record with seven million guests, exceeding all our expectations for this special year.”
Mack attributed the growth to the resort’s evolution beyond a traditional theme park model, citing its integrated destination offering, including the Rulantica water world, Eatrenalin fine dining experience, and on-site hotels, which encourage longer stays and repeat visitation.
Content Expansion and Brand Integration Drive Growth
Europa-Park’s 2025 performance was supported by targeted investment in intellectual property and entertainment integration. A key milestone was the release of ‘GRAND PRIX OF EUROPE’, the first feature film produced by Mack, alongside the launch of GRAND PRIX EDventure, an interactive family attraction based on the film’s storyline.
The resort also marked its anniversary with a high-profile gala event attended by international guests and long-standing partners, further strengthening brand visibility within the global attractions industry.
Awards, Milestones and Global Recognition
Europa-Park’s international competitiveness was reinforced in 2025 with the park receiving the Golden Ticket Award for “Best Theme Park Worldwide” for the tenth time. Another symbolic milestone followed in November with the visit of the resort’s 150 millionth guest, highlighting sustained long-term growth.
Year-Round Strategy Continues to Expand
The resort continued to invest in its year-round offering, a cornerstone of its business model. The Rulantica water world expanded with the addition of ‘Svømmepøl’, a new outdoor relaxation pool designed for all-season use.
In accommodation, the former Europa-Park Camp Resort was redeveloped into “Silver Lake City”, significantly increasing on-site lodging capacity and supporting extended stays. This expansion reflects a broader industry trend towards destination-style resorts with diversified accommodation types.
Looking Ahead: 2026 Developments
Further expansion is planned for 2026, including the opening of the Riverside Western Lodge, featuring 119 themed rooms, alongside additional log cabins, covered wagons and tipis. The development will also introduce a brewery producing Europa-Park beer, served directly at the adjacent Wild Horse Bar.
On the attraction side, the Principality of Monaco will debut as Europa-Park’s 18th European themed area during the 2026 summer season, bringing Mediterranean-inspired theming to the area surrounding the Silver Star rollercoaster. The food and beverage portfolio will also grow with the opening of Sally’s Café, led by well-known food creator Sally, located within the Iceland themed area at the blue fire Dome.
Strong End to the Season
Europa-Park’s winter season runs until 18 January 2026, while Rulantica, Eatrenalin, and the resort’s four-star superior hotels remain operational year-round, further stabilising revenue beyond the traditional peak season.
