TEA SATE EME 2026
July 6 - 9, 2026
Gothenburg, Sweden
The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) has officially announced that its SATE EME 2026 conference has been rescheduled to take place at Liseberg in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 6–9 July 2026.
The move follows the difficult decision to cancel the original Dubai event in March due to ongoing regional conflicts. In a statement, TEA expressed its immense gratitude to Dubai Parks & Resorts for their initial partnership and to all the speakers who had already dedicated significant effort to curating the program.
SATE EME: Exploring 'Roots' at Liseberg
The theme for this year’s conference is 'Roots' - and this remains at the heart of the event. SATE (Storytelling + Architecture + Technology = Experience) will challenge attendees to look at how attractions grow from heritage, myth, and community.
As Liseberg prepares to host some of the industry’s top creative people, the choice of venue is particularly poignant. Founded as part of the 1923 Gothenburg Jubilee Exhibition, Liseberg is a prime example of a park that has evolved organically while staying deeply anchored in its local landscape, history, and people.
Event Agenda & Programming
The four-day summit combines high-level educational sessions with exclusive behind-the-scenes access to one of Europe's most beloved parks:
- 6 July: Welcome Reception hosted at Mei Rose, the rooftop at Liseberg Grand Curiosa Hotel, following a day of full park access.
- 7 July: SATE Day 1 education sessions, concluding with Dinner in the Park.
- 8 July: SATE Day 2 education sessions and the signature Gala Dinner at 1923, a themed costume evening.
- 9 July: Optional Park EduTours and continued park access for delegates.
Why This Matters for the Theme Park Industry
The rescheduling to Liseberg ensures that the EME (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) community maintains a dedicated platform to connect despite geopolitical challenges.
For industry professionals, the event presents a unique opportunity to study the operating model at Liseberg, a world-class city centre park that successfully balances tradition with cutting-edge expansion.
