Eco-Friendly North Wales Theme Park, GreenWood, Hits Market for £1.25 Million

GreenWood Family Theme Park, a multi-award-winning eco-attraction located on the edge of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, has been brought to market with an asking price in the region of £1,250,000.

Established in 1991 and acquired by Continuum Attractions in 2017, the 34-acre freehold site is being offered as a 100% share sale of GreenWood Forest Park Ltd. The latest sale includes the extensive picturesque woodland holding, all trade fixtures, fittings, equipment, and the park’s livestock.

During the sale, it's very much business as usual. The park is open, tickets are on sale, and the team is looking forward to a busy season ahead.

Investment Highlights

  • 34-acre freehold holding in a mature deciduous wooded valley.
  • £1.5m of capital investment over the last seven years.
  • World-first eco-attractions including a people-powered rollercoaster.
  • 150kw solar farm generating approx. 70% of park energy.
  • Experienced staffing structure and management in place.

A Leading Regional Attraction

GreenWood Family Park has built a strong reputation as a "forest full of fun", focusing on discovery, adventure, and nature-based play. The park features over 15 themed attractions, including the Green Dragon Rollercoaster (world’s first people-powered gravity coaster) and Solar Splash, a solar-powered water slide.

Central facilities include the Woodbarn Café and soft play area, which provides a year-round indoor offering with 80 covers and integrated administration offices.

Sustainable Operations and Growth

A key differentiator for GreenWood is its "eco-focussed" infrastructure. In addition to the solar farm - which produces a net income of circa £10,000 per annum - the site features a reed bed sewage treatment system and a biomass heating system.

The listing highlights significant development potential to enhance revenue. This includes a newly developed "Tipi Village" glamping area with six bases and supporting infrastructure, as well as ample land for further project development within the 34-acre site.

Strategic Location

Situated near the A487 Felinheli bypass, the theme park is well-connected to the A55 North Wales Expressway. This provides easy access to major catchment populations in Liverpool, Manchester, and Chester, as well as the nearby tourist hubs of Bangor, Caernarfon, and Llandudno.
