United Parks & Resorts has announced a significant update to its executive leadership team, appointing Kyle Miller as President and Scott Maupin as Chief Parks Operating Officer.
These strategic promotions position two seasoned industry executives at the helm of the theme park operator’s operational and growth strategy.
Kyle Miller Appointed President
In his new role as President, Kyle Miller will work closely with Chief Executive Officer Marc Swanson and the wider executive team to drive operational priorities, advance the company's growth strategy, and enhance guest experiences across its portfolio of destinations.
Miller brings over three decades of experience within the organization. Having joined Busch Entertainment Corporation in 1995, he has held various leadership roles across operations, culinary, merchandise, and park management functions. Most recently, Miller served as Chief Parks Operations Officer, overseeing operations across the entire park portfolio. Prior to that, he was Park President of SeaWorld Orlando, Discovery Cove, and Aquatica Orlando.

"We are excited to announce Kyle’s promotion to President. Kyle is a highly respected leader with deep operational expertise, and a proven ability to drive results," said Marc Swanson, CEO of United Parks & Resorts. "Having spent more than three decades growing his career within our organization, Kyle has a unique understanding of our business, our culture, and our commitment to delivering experiences that matter."
Commenting on his appointment, Miller stated:
"As I step into this new role, I am honored and excited by the opportunity to help lead United Parks into its next chapter. Our parks have a unique ability to bring families together, inspire guests through extraordinary experiences, and advance our mission of animal care, conservation and rescue."
Scott Maupin Takes On Chief Parks Operating Officer Role
Following Miller's promotion, Scott Maupin steps into the position of Chief Parks Operating Officer, having previously served as Co-Chief Parks Operating Officer since joining the company in May 2026.
Maupin brings more than 30 years of theme park, resort, and hospitality operations experience to the role. Before joining United Parks & Resorts, he served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director for Merlin Entertainments, where he oversaw a North American portfolio of 45 destinations. His career also includes senior leadership roles with Great Wolf Resorts and Six Flags.

"Since joining United Parks, Scott has quickly established himself as a strong and effective leader," Swanson noted. "He brings significant operational experience and a clear focus on execution, performance and the guest experience. We are pleased to have him step into this expanded role."
Maupin added:
"Over the past several months, I have had the opportunity to see firsthand the passion our teams bring to our parks every day. I look forward to building on that foundation as we continue delivering exceptional experiences for our guests and driving operational excellence across the business."
Executive Departure
Alongside these appointments, United Parks & Resorts confirmed that Christopher Finazzo, Chief Commercial Officer, will be departing the company to pursue new opportunities. The organisation expressed its gratitude for Finazzo's contributions during his tenure.
